Let’s face it, streaming services have taken over our airwaves and have replaced cable TV. But the thing that always gets us is that even though we subscribe to more than 3 different streaming services, we still end up feeling like there is nothing to watch! I can definitely speak from personal experience that I have wasted nights looking for something to watch and then by the time I find something both me and whoever I am watching with can agree on, it is too late to start a movie. There are so many shows and movies that we could be watching, so many films and television that everyone talks about it can be hard to keep up. Luckily, below we have a list of new additions to some of your favorite streaming services coming to you this month. Whether it’s a movie that you haven’t seen since high school or a new season of that T.V show that reminds you of high school, we have it all on this list. So get your popcorn and have the remote ready!
New Additions to Netflix
Ozark Season 4
Jason Batement is known for his light and funny comedies, like Arrested Development, Horrible Bosses, Juno, The Change-Up, and many others. However, in Netflix Original’s Ozark, he plays a straight-laced financial advisor that winds up getting him and his family involved in laundering money for the second largest drug cartel in Mexico and now moves his family to Missouri in the Ozarks. The story eventually follows Jason Batemen and his family trying to not get caught, appease their crime bosses, and the dramatic twists and turns that they and other characters fall into. Also starring Laura Linney and Julia Garner. Ozark only has between 10-13 episodes for each season with only 50 minutes with each episode. This show is perfect for those who love crime, dramas, and thrillers. Tune in to Season 4 on January 21st; with this math, if you start now and watch 3 episodes a day between now and January 20th you’ll be all caught up for season 4. Watch the trailer here.
Don’t Look Up (2021)
Though this movie has been on Netflix since December, we just had to include it because it is just that memorable. A disaster-comedy starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Cate Blanchette and more of an amazing cast. The story follows Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence as two low-level astronomers must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy planet Earth. However, it seems that no one can take it seriously. Filled with both deadpan humor and satire on the media today, this movie is perfect for those who love satires and a bit of sci-fi. New Additions to HBO MAX
Euphoria Season 2
As if you haven’t seen the TikTok’s about this one. That’s right, everyone’s favorite new teen drama about these troubled teens lives going through different problematic situations that cause a lot of drama, literally. Starring Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeny, and Jacob Elordi. Battling sex, drugs, trauma along with the same usual high school issues, Zendaya as the star is a good watch no matter what. You might want to bring the tissues though for this one…and not just to clean the glitter eye makeup off. Watch Episode 2 of Euphoria streaming on January 16th at 9 pm EST. Watch the trailer here.
Succession Season 4
I know we are really ranking up the dramas but maybe that just means that 2022 will be a dramatic year? Succession is a riveting series about a highly dysfunctional family, that goes way beyond just arguments at the dinner table. When the patriarch of the Roy family and CEO of a huge media conglomerate decides to retire, his four adult children each have their own agenda when it comes to who will get the job. And trust us, there is nothing short of bloodshed in this edge-of-your-seat American drama. Starring Brian Cox( known from Braveheart), Jeremy Strong (The Big Short and Lincoln), Sarah Snook (Steve Jobs), and Kieran Culkin (as in Home Alone) and a plethora of other stars, this 94% rating on Rotten Tomato’s series is one not to be missed as well! Look out for the release date sometime this year. Watch the trailer here.

The Bachelor Season 26
That’s right! Your favorite cheesy reality show is back for another season! Join the many women in deciding who will be the ultimate

With only 11 episodes, each woman gets their chance to prove to Echard that she is worthy of his final rose. Tune in tonight for Episode 2!

Black-ish Final Season
Unfortunately, the hit ABC comedy Black-ish is coming to an end with its final season. Anthony Anderson stars as Dre Johnson, a black man living in a predominantly white neighborhood, who tries to raise his four kids with a sense of ethnic identity that will allow them to honor their background while preparing them to embrace the future. With Tracee Ellis Ross playing Rainbow “Bo” Anderson, and Laurence Fishburne as Anthony’s father, this show tackles racial tensions and situations while still maintaining a light sense of humor. Filled with laughs and moments that make you pause, this series is one of a kind that will be missed. Tune into episode 2 on January 11th at 9:30 pm EST. Watch the trailer here.
